Our new toy!

A couple of weeks ago we had a nice young gentleman stop by our house and talked me into letting him clean our carpet in the living room. I let him, much to Larry's disappointment. Larry, who was working in the kitchen, mocked this kid the entire time. Keep in mind a couple years ago we had the same company stop in and show us this vacuum and we almost purchased it. We had an ancient rainbow vacuum which no longer had much suction to it. We've had it for 8 years and we purchased it from a lady for $50 when we got married. Anyway, to make a long story short Larry had no intentions of buying it, and told the guy so. They nearly dropped the price in half and I wanted it. You should've seen the dirt that came out of our carpet which is only a little over a year old. Gavin was listening to all of this and immediately wanted it. I told him that he could have it if he bought it. So, he went to his night stand and brought out $2.25 and begged us to let him buy it. Needless to say, for the next week he would wake up each morning and get the vacuum out of the closet and mess with all the accessories. Gavin is now the super proud owner of a Kirby vacuum. He's even done our mattresses and asked tonight if we needed to do our pillows. He doesn't want to have any "dirt mites" in our house. I think he takes after his Grandma Dorn....definitely not me!

Happy Birthday Aunt Kelly!

We'd like to wish Kelly a Happy 28th Birthday today!

Aunt Kelly I love you because you let me come over to your house and stay the night. I also love you because you let me play with Uncle Jeremy. Love, Gavin

Aunt Kelly, I love you because you're having a baby. God made you for having babies! (No clue where that came from) Love, Maddox

Happy Birthday Kelly....even though you look like a monkey and smell like one too!
Love, Larry, DeAnn, Gavin, and Maddox

Big Helpers!

Yesterday we watched Baby Kamdyn for some friends of ours...we had a really good time! Gavin said that he wished that Kamdyn was his little brother. He is the best baby ever. My kids were good babies, but Kamdyn was even better. We loved having him over.

Larry's Day Off!

So, this weekend Larry actually had two days off. We went to church and enjoyed our peace and quiet. Larry works on Sunday mornings so I usually take the boys by myself. Maddox is 3 now, so he goes to Sunday School class and Gavin is 5 so sits in church with us for a little while, but goes to "Liturgy of the Word" through most of mass. I've been taking the boys to church by myself for a while now, and they're getting big enough to be good in church. However, this is so nice. I really thought that this time would never come...the time when I could come to church and actually hear what was being said and be able to get something out of it. Ahhhh!

The top came off the jeep today....

We went to Patton's birthday party! Check out this cake...it was made by Heather (Sheppard) Yonaka and was made from a picture that Amber had taken of Patton when he had a "real" mohawk.

On this particular swing I think that Patton came closer to hitting his Mom, Megan, rather than the pinata. Good fun! Parker and Addisen Checkers the clown even made it to the party...

Addisen sporting her new crown tattoo

Maddox with his coyote tat

Gavin and his butterfly tat

Can you guess what type of balloon Checkers designed for Gavin?????

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

How did you guess!!! It IS a Snake in a Basket...I would've never guessed it.

The night ended with supper at The Dorn's for Kelly's early birthday meal! The boys were singing to her at this point and threw out the old "you look like a monkey, and you smell like one too"! Kelly blamed it on her being around them too much, which is probably true. They are monkeys!

Larry's Feeling Left Out...

Well, I brought the boys home some "stuff" from my trip to St. Louis with the girls and Larry ran across this t-shirt that the girls and I got at "The Big Bang". Needless to say, I didn't get Larry anything...nothing! He was a little disappointed, but I think I made it up to him when I told him that he could have my t-shirt. That seemed to make him feel a little better. What do you think?

I'm not sure that he understands what "Bang" means.

Raindrops Keep Fallin'!

While in St. Louis shopping I ran across these umbrellas and thought I'd get them for the boys. We saw some at Wal-Mart the other day and they wanted them soooo badly. However, they were really girly. I know, you're probably thinking that umbrellas are girly no matter what they look like, but I decided that these would be ok. They LOVE them. I know we've had enough rain to last us a while, but they have had fun using them tonight with all of this rain. It poured forever. I have never seen our street as flooded as it was.

A Night with the Girls!

I just wanted to say thanks to my "girlfriends" for an enjoyable night away from the old grind. I had a great time and am looking forward to doing it again. Here is a photo that was taken at "The Big Bang", a piano bar on the landing. These were two of the entertainers. They were super nice to us...and gave us a little special treatment. We'll definitely go back again.

There are more photos...good ones too. However, I may not have any girlfriends left if I showed them. Just kidding! Thanks for the memories girls!
