1 more week...

until I get to my goal. I'm gonna have to bust my rear...just because I haven't had a 1.8 lb loss in a long while. That's what it's going to take for me to get to my 20lb. goal. I was down .6lbs. today. My last couple of weeks caught up to me. It's been a stressful week. I'm helping to plan our church's Mother/Daughter Banquet and I have LOTS to do. I tend to get worked up over these sorts of things and I know that can't be good. The banquet is next Wednesday, so that is going to be the only thing holding me back. I am going to eat well and exercise EVERY day!

I spoke to Mom earlier...she gained the .6 lbs. that I lost. She IS going to do everything in her power to get to her 20 lb. goal that she can. I'm depending on her to do that. These numbers can be very frustrating...but we cannot let it get us down. We've come too far for that.

Here's to next week! Have a good one!

Spoiled Rotten!

We are totally spoiled rotten by Larry's Aunt Vicki...these new toys are compliments of her. It's something she wanted when she was younger, but never had. I guess she's reliving her childhood through the boys. The entertainment these bikes have brought us is overwhelming...really! (As you can see from the photos below)
The last photo reminded us of this movie....

Larry decided to bring out the ramp today...

2 very happy boys!

Thank you Aunt Vicki! We love you!

Slowly but surely!

I'm gonna make this short and sweet...I was down again this week luckily. I wasn't expecting to be. The exercising must be my saving grace because I ate PLENTY this weekend. Larry's Aunt Vicki from Wyoming was home meaning lots of get-togethers and meals at the Dorn's. I've told you before my mother-in-law is a great cook. We had Mallory's baptism and celebration and I could go on and on. I'm thinking I just got lucky. I did not exercise for 3 days in a row! Usually when I do that I give up on it, but Monday I knew I had to do something so I ran my LITTLE butt off. I'm going to say that's what did it. I am down 1.2 lbs. leaving my total at 17.6 lbs. Only 2.4 more to go to my first goal.

One more thing...Larry has this "friend" who has PRESSURED me into going outside my comfort zone and trying something new. I'm going to run (and probably walk) a 5K race in a couple weeks. He is going to stick with me no matter what...even if I have to walk the whole thing...which I'm NOT! Now I have that to work toward as well. Maybe it'll help me get to that goal too, who knows? Honestly I've been thinking about running a 5K race anyway, but am feeling I'm not ready for it...what's there to lose though. It'll be good for me...right? Thanks Jarad! I'm teasing about the PRESSURED part too and obviously the fact that I was going to make this short and sweet!

Mom was down this week too! .4 lbs Remember it's better than nothing...or even a gain. You're headed in the right direction!

Our Godchild

Mallory was baptized this weekend and I'll have to say it was my favorite baptism yet. It was really nice!

Mallory thought Father Jerry was all right...she even held his finger for the longest time while he was speaking to the people

Our gift to Mallory...a bracelet engraved with her name
The cake I made for Mallory...she was going for it
Mallory with her proud cousins...love this photo!
This was the funniest picture taken...thanks Aunt Vicki! Can anyone guess what was going on here??
That's right...us, well mostly Larry, hollering at the boys! Go figure...
All in all it was really nice...and we are very proud of our Godchild!

Spring Concert!

Tonight the boys had their Spring Concert...Miss Mary (Mary Frohning-Kindermusik teacher) teaches music for Pre-K and Kindergarten at their school. It was incredibly cute!

The kids worked really hard to sing their best. Thanks to all who were involved in putting it together! Too cute!

Not too bad!

So I weighed in again tonight. I lost again! I was down .8 lbs. Not the largest loss, however, it's been a week full of all kinds of "temptations". I think I handled the meals pretty well all weekend. Candy...not so hot. I have never eaten so many of those damn Reese's Pieces Eggs, peanut M&M's, Dove chocolates...let's see...I'm sure there's more. I worked my rear off exercise wise though. That has to be what saved me. I think most of the candy is out of the house...at least the kind I like...so that will be a good thing for me.

Mom weighed in today too, she drove all the way down here to weigh in because she was so excited to see how she did. Her scales was once again showing her good things. She needs a NEW scale is what it is telling her! She was down and that is all that matters. She was down .6 lbs. One of these days it'll show up on the WW scale.

Here's to a new week! Hang in there...it's a change in your lifestyle...and that takes time...a lifetime!

Go Knights!

Elaine sent these t-shirts home with Grandma and Grandpa Kocher over the Easter weekend. The boys were sure to wear them to school today in support of their cousins, Taylor and Jordan!
We're your #1 fans! Good luck this season...we'll do our best to come and watch you play sometime!
Thanks for the T-shirts too!

Birthday...times 2!

On Saturday, April 4th, we had a birthday for Maddox (and Larry) here at the house with our families. Here's the cake...it was a mixture of all the types of cakes Maddox wanted. He kept changing his mind. So this is what we ended up with. It was a red, white, and blue camo firetruck. I meant to raise it up with some shocks to fulfill his monster truck wish, but I forgot until after I already started on the tires. The red, white, and blue came from his wish of wanting an American flag on the firetruck. I thought it turned out pretty well considering how many ideas he had about what he wanted. Kurt and Taylor are Maddox's Godparents, so this was their gift to him. Kiley came up with the idea to decorate his wrapping instead of using regular old birthday wrapping. Very creative and definitely personal. Notice the skate boarder ramping...saying "come to papa!" while Mom stands off to the side with the video camera....and then the wipeout! Loved it!
This is the gift...it just so happens to be Gavin's favorite toy also. He was Star Student last week at school and on his questionaire he listed this as his favorite toy! Somebody knew exactly what these boys would like.
Eating supper on the jungle gym
Larry with his favorite baby!
Thank you Kurt for my Backhoe! I gave him an extra tight one for Taylor too!
The boy loves his Cars stuff
Larry loves his new toy also...an Ipod Touch
Happy Birthday to you...Blowing out the candles
Trying out his sidewalk chalk...complete with eraser too
Gavin and Pepper watching us clean up...
I'm trying to get caught up on my posting. This is just the beginning.

Kindergarten Egg Hunt

I just got home from the egg hunt and thought I'd post a few pictures from this afternoon. I am way behind on my other birthday pictures from this weekend and so I'll skip ahead for a little while. This post is for Rylin and Brianna who were sick and not able to make the egg hunt today. We saved some eggs for you!

G - O, GO! Gavin getting ready to hunt some Easter Eggs at school today! Counting to see how many he had...need 3 more!
The girls
Mrs. Burgener with her crew
Just hanging out, enjoying the nice weather, and filling those bellies

Time to head in!

Shocked and blown away!

I went to weigh in last night...expecting the worst, and here is why: 2 nights of actually eating meals at home. I had something going on every single day except for 2 last week. Each of those nights involved me eating a meal that I had no clue how to figure points for, etc. On Sunday, we went to St. Louis. That included a meal at Hooter's and at the Melting Pot (just 2 days before weigh-in) I had already accepted the fact that I would probably gain and crossed my fingers in hopes of possibly just staying the same weight. I was shocked when I was down 1.6 lbs. Now, I realize that these things have a way of catching up to me. I am off to a good start, except for the Easter candy that is already rolling into my house on what seems to be a daily basis. I seem to like it a lot more than the boys do. My goal is to lose 4.4 lbs. which would put me at -20lbs. 4 weeks from today. I know that doesn't seem like very much, but at my pace I'm thinking I need to set some sort of goal here that has a "time limit".

Mom called just a while ago and she hadn't weighed for 2 weeks. She was down too...also 1.6 lbs. She says her scale at home was telling her she was down more than that, but it's bound to show up next week. We just focus so much on our weekly weight loss that we sometimes forget what we've done so far. That's what really matters. Keep up the good work Mom, one of these days/months we'll get our 20 lb. party!

By the way, thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes for Larry...he liked them!
