Losing it...

My motivation, that is. I really, really do not want to post this evening. However, I have to do it. I GAINED again, another .8 lbs. again this week. Could definitely be worse, but it REALLY could be better too. I honestly didn't exercise much over the weekend and ate plenty. I didn't make sure I drank my water, blah, blah, blah....

Tonight after weighing in I went to work out and got back into my exercise routine which I skipped over the weekend. I feel better already. Here's to next week...maybe I'll gain the motivation to keep up with all the things it takes to lose for once.

I don't think Mom is going to be able to weigh in this week. If she does, I'll be sure to update later.

Sandboxes and smiles...that's what Grandpas are made for!

Friday evening we had a wild idea to start a sandpile "project" this weekend. We have a sandbox underneath our jungle gym, but the boys are growing out of it at this point. They're really getting into making roads and all sorts of things that take lots of space. When they are both in it there's really just not much room to move around. We had no clue it was supposed to rain this weekend, so we had sand delivered within 10 minutes and had made plans for Grandpa Dorn to come over this morning. Despite the rain, the guys managed to build a sandbox with lots of help from Gavin and Maddox.

Thank you Grandpa Dorn! We are glad Grandma Dorn came to hang out with us too!

Big helpers!

Yesterday morning on the way to school, the boys asked me if we could have a baby sister at our house. I was surprised because if anything I figured they would want a baby brother. I told them to talk to their Dad. They must've forgot because I'm pretty sure neither of them have mentioned it to Larry. I know what he'd say though. Boys, this is as close to a little sister as you're going to get. I'd say he's right!

Gavin's turn to give Mallory a bottle, and he even got a good burp out of her too!
Maddox patiently awaiting his turn...very concerned that there wouldn't be any milk left for him to feed her.
Finally Maddox gets his turn and even manages to get a good burp out of her too! One sweet little girl with a full belly! Look at those cheeks!

One gain, One loss- Take 3!

Between my mom and myself we have a loser and a gainer. I was up again...some consistency here would be nice. I weighed in, then ate Chinese (carefully..haven't been there since before Christmas) and then went to the gym. The lady working at the gym tonight told me I'm gaining muscle, so that's going to happen. I also watch "The Biggest Loser" and I remember Jillian saying that's no excuse. I don't know which is true, but let's just say that I'm gaining muscle...that sounds good to me. I was up .8 lbs. My total is now 14.8 lbs.

Mom LOST this week...She was down 1.4 lbs. She's catching me quickly. Way to go Mom!
Her total is 12.2 lbs.

Until next week...

Popsicles and Pepper

Gavin wanted to have his picture taken with Pepper this afternoon, so Maddox hopped in too. Pepper is nearly as large as the boys.
The boys were enjoying their snacks outside this afternoon. Gavin told me last week that he gave up fighting with his brother for lent...can you tell from this photo. Actually he has done better at being nice to his little brother. Thank goodness for lent. Too bad it doesn't last all year.

Play Ball!

This evening Gavin was excited about showing me how he can catch pop flies much better than last year.
I got it!

Whoa!

Now it's Maddox's turn...to show me what he's got!

Maddox firing the ball to Dad...that boy has an arm on him. If only he was old enough to play this year. Maybe we could sneak him out on the field.
Gavin starts practice on April 3rd...He's looking forward to it.

Saturday...

Today I took lots of pictures and just thought I'd post a few. We were on the run today...and the last thing I need to be doing is blogging. Ah well!

1st Stop: Grandma and Grandpa Dorn's The boys went fishing and the girls went shopping...and shopping is exhausting...just ask Mallory!

My Little Greaser!

This morning Maddox decided to "fix" his own hair. It looked awesome...what do you think? Never mind the huge clumps of Daddy's "grooming creme" on the sides of his head. This view actually looks pretty impressive.
Nice?!

Even nicer?!?! The best part was trying to get it out of his hair. We didn't know what to use, and the first thing that popped into our heads was Dawn...it does cut grease! What a mess...we didn't even get it all out because after his nap today it looked as if he'd been cruising around on Grandpa's Harley all day. Definitely some wacky hair today!

Who Needs a Stylist...

...when you've got cousins! Jeremy and Kelly stopped in to get ready for church pictures this evening and I was getting Mallory dressed up in her super cute big girl dress. Gavin and Maddox enjoyed helping me get her dressed. We had to take her socks back off so that Maddox could have a job too. Gavin got her all buttoned up the back and Maddox did a great job getting her toes covered. She thought she was big stuff getting all that pampering.
Gavin even decided to roll up her sleeves for her

Giving a little wave...
This little girl has it made...don't ya think?

Today's my Lucky Day!

I guess the luck of the Irish is with me today. I was down 4.4 lbs. at weigh-in tonight. That's right . . 4.4lbs. I am beyond ecstatic! We didn't have a whole lot going on this week...we didn't go anywhere and I didn't have a whole lot of temptations overall. That's a total of 15.6 lbs. for me. I feel a party coming on!

I heard from Mom this afternoon. She has lost again...this time 1.8 lbs. Her total is 10.8 lbs. Not too shabby! She's going to catch right up with me.

A huge thanks goes all to everyone for their comments and emails and encouragement through this "lifelong" journey of ours. THANKS!

Just loungin' around!

Just a while ago the boys were watching Spongebob (Surprise, Surprise!) and this is how they were laying. This type of affection doesn't happen too often anymore between the two of them. I had to capture it. Gavin's getting to the age where he thinks he's too old for it. It was funny because Maddox asked Gavin if he was getting heavy...and Gavin said "No buddy, I'm good!"

One gain, One loss AGAIN!

Yes, that's the case again this week! Only this time I'm not so lucky. I gained. Again. I think I'm going to have to work on the old portion control this week...I'm going to have to start writing down what I'm eating. I think it's that I have been exercising a LOT so I think that I can eat a lot more...it doesn't work that way. I did have a lot of temptations this week, which I think I handled very well, but obviously not well enough. I am very disappointed that this is my third gain already, but hey. I'm not giving up! So here's to my .6 lb gain. (Once again, at least it's not 6 lbs.)

Mom gained too...JUST KIDDING! She LOST 2.6 lbs!!!!!!!!! So proud of her... That means she's lost 9 lbs at this point. She's catching me.

Oh, I almost forgot I do have some good news. I got measured at the gym today... I have lost 10 lbs. since I joined and 22.5 inches. I was happy with that! Until next week...

Thank you Grandpa Kocher!

Last week we brought home Gavin's pedal tractor from Grandma and Grandpa Kocher's house. Grandpa fixed it after it's been out of commission for nearly a year. Since the weather has been so nice we've been outside a ton. You know how much he loves to ride his bike, but he must have been missing this tractor...he has only ridden his bike once since it's been here. We went on a walk today...I walked, Maddox rode his bike, Gavin rode his tractor. I don't know how he does it...but he kept up with us pretty well and didn't even get tired! I think he has big plans...someone must have mentioned riding in the parade next to Grandpa on his antique tractor, but didn't know if he'd be able to ride that far. I think he's on a mission!
Just in case you're wondering...Maddox did pick out his entire wardrobe for this afternoon. This is actually his second outfit. Gavin is USUALLY very good about picking things that match or coordinate in some way and he always has been. Maddox on the other hand told me that both his shirt and shorts had a white stripe so they matched. He's got a lot to learn. He was very offended when I told him that he didn't match. He was, however, very prepared for the water he was going to ride through on our walk.
This is just one of the small ponds that you will find at the end of our streets in the neighborhood. At least those potholes are good for something. It does make our street a little more entertaining.

Maddox emptying water out of his boots
Gavin drying his tractor off with his shirt. He just got done cleaning his tractor earlier in the afternoon, so he took it easy in the water today.
Maddox filling up one of the potholes at the end of our drive. Our poor neighbors! I am going to blame it on Grandma Kocher...saying summer time was the best time to potty train those boys for the ease and fun in peeing outside. It worked for us! They both know they're not supposed to pee outisde...at least in the front yard, but are having a hard time giving that up.
